At Sound Aquatics we understand that safe divers need to be comfortable in the water and that competent scuba skills are built on supervised practice time. You can expect a high level of personal involvement from us with your training. We will assist you in meeting fellow compatible divers, finding suitable and safe introductory technical dive locations and helping you to begin your future diving career.
There will be an evaluation after every dive where you will critique your performance. We will assist you in identifying a way for you to correct deficiencies we may find. When you take any scuba class from us, we will strive to make the atmosphere casual, and FUN. |

Our philosophy on gear configuration is that it must be a properly configured technical diving rig. If we see things that can be made more efficient, for a technical diving environment, we will assist you in making those changes during the first training session. |

Awareness is a key component of safe technical diving. During training, you will be challenged to perform several things at once. For instance tracking gas pressure, running reels, light management, controlling buoyancy & trim, keeping pace with team members, and meeting training goals are just a few of the things that will be going on all at once.

In addition, you will need to be aware of your surroundings, as well as your orientation to things such as the ascent line, the exit line, your teammates, your gear, and not just simply completing the task at hand.

We will work on developing a routine in preparation for a technical dive. We will try to instill the habit of being 100% prepared mentally and physically before you enter the water. Dive planning is a very important aspect of a successful technical dive. Technical dives are planned down to the last detail. Who is doing what, when and how?

Enrollment in the course does not guarantee certification. If, after completing the course you still struggle with buoyancy, body positioning, global awareness or your emotions, you are not adequately prepared to tech dive. We will continue working with you until you reach this standard.

Our course fees are posted, they are not the lowest fees that you will find, nor are they much higher than the fees charged by other instructors. No short cuts are taken in our teaching. We take the time to make sure that you are a competent diver when you graduate, and somebody that we would like to dive with. When you think about the amount of mentoring and in-water training that is included in our courses, you will find our price structure is a great value.

Lastly, we actually do the “real dives” for fun as well as teaching, this means that we are constantly using and practicing the techniques we will pass on to our students. |
